At Pawsitive Foster, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our foster management platform. Please read this privacy policy carefully.
We collect information you provide when creating an account and using our services, such as your name, email, phone number, and profile details. If you represent an organization, we may also collect organization-related information. We additionally collect content you submit through the platform, such as messages, photos, and notes.
We also automatically collect device information, usage data, and error reports to help us maintain and improve the platform.
We use your information to provide and improve our services, manage your account, send service-related communications, personalize your experience, analyze usage and performance, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, ensure platform security, conduct research and development, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with authorized users within your organization, third-party service providers who help us operate the platform, or as required by law. We may also share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, secure data transmission, and ongoing monitoring and review.
In the event of a security breach affecting your data, we will notify affected customers within 72 hours of confirming the breach.
We will provide reasonable advance notice before adding new third-party services that materially process customer data.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Pawsitive Foster offers optional text message notifications to help foster coordinators and foster caregivers stay informed about urgent animal needs, foster assignments, and other time-sensitive updates.
What we collect: If you choose to provide your mobile phone number, we collect and store it to deliver text message notifications. Providing your phone number is optional and is not required to use the core features of Pawsitive Foster.
Types of messages: You may receive text messages related to urgent foster pleas, foster assignment notifications, and assignment status updates. Messages are transactional in nature and related to your foster coordination activities.
Consent: We will only send you text messages if you have provided your express consent. You will be asked to opt in when you provide your mobile phone number during account setup or in your notification preferences. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
How to opt out: You can stop receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by turning off SMS notifications in your notification preferences within the app. Your opt-out will be processed immediately.
Data retention: SMS delivery records are retained for up to 12 months for service quality and billing purposes, then automatically deleted. Your phone number is retained on your account until you remove it or delete your account.
Third-party service: We use a trusted third-party messaging provider to deliver text messages. Your phone number is shared with that provider solely for the purpose of message delivery, under their own privacy commitments.
You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You can also opt out of non-essential communications and text message notifications.
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@pawsitivefoster.com. You can also request data deletion directly from the app under Settings. We will process deletion and export requests within 30 days and confirm completion via email.
Pawsitive Foster offers optional AI-assisted features that your team can choose to use.
When you use an AI feature, the content you submit is processed by a trusted third-party AI provider to generate the requested response. We do not use your data to train AI models, and our AI provider does not use submitted content to train their models on your behalf.
We use third-party services for hosting, authentication, error tracking, messaging, and analytics. These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice via email, in-app notification, or by posting a notice on the platform, along with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
